Another successful day of travel. We fixed Kasey's bed, although I wish I had my contractor (Gary and Patti were supposed to come with us) with me because I used about $25 of marine stainless steel screws to tighten the frame. It is much better now although Kasey will have to dismantle with a hammer and crowbar. On the ride down, got a few thumbs up on the graphics package and a few horns and flashing lights but again not sure if I am just cutting them off on the road. The Rig is 62 feet long! Dropped Kasey at work and off to the only campground near Annapolis and DC, Capital KOA $96 a night. We joined the KOA club and saved a whopping 10%. BUT, let me tell you, it is unbelievable. We have our own gas grill, nice patio, all hook ups, clean bathrooms, showers, wifi, store, etc.
We got in at 2 pm and decided to go to Washington DC to do our necessary daily walk after a lunch stop at a cool place called the Big Fish Grill. Got some cool ideas for decorations for SHANKS. We endured the traffic and parked on the street and visited the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, WW II Memorial, Korean Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, White House, Etc. I have not been to DC in 20+ years and was glad to see the new memorials. Jen has never been there so she really enjoyed it. We did see one "civilian" walking around with full secret service guards that would not let anyone near him. Jen did not know who he was but someone famous or just another waste of our tax payer dollars. We wanted to visit my nephew at GW but could not leave dogs alone for that long and our trip was spontaneous (maybe on way home).
On the way back, we stopped at a Wegmans Grocery Store. HOLY CRAP, Maureen and Randy are right, it is unbelievable. Cooked steaks on our gas grill and watched criminal minds (well i did while Jen watched the back of her eye lids. Took the girls for a walk at the dog park and off to bed. The girls are getting adjusted but still barking at everything they can. We have spoken to a few people and are the youngest by at least 20 years. A lot of low six figure RV's. Tomorrow off to Annapolis to boat show and investigate our BVI Charter Business Venture.???
Loving this!!
