Independence Tour Day 3 Annapolis

Woke up at 9 am and felt so guilty that we rushed to get breakfast and coffee.  We only got 9 hours of sleep.  Only to find out, everyone around us is retired and wakes up "whenever" and days "blend together."  Wow! Had eggs on the grill (non pancake day-Every other).   Went for a walk at a park 5 miles away and according to the gate keeper, we were going to have so much fun.  Paid the $6 fee and walk around the park, 4 ponds, sports field, and full farm until we got our 5 miles @ 14.02 / mile pace (in your face Brooke).  It was better then walking on the road and kept Jen getting her 5 miles in.  We were the only people without kids looking at the farm animals.   Back to the campground to take showers and go to Annapolis (capital of Maryland).  I told Jen to take shower in trailer to "test" for other times and i went to the KOA bathrooms.  Thank you, Emma, for painting my toe nails blue last week when you visited, as i got more looks for that then the 60' American Flag Bus I am driving.

Jen did great in the RV shower and only blew breaker when blow drying her hair.   Off to Annapolis which is awesome.  Walked the town and went to the boat show to discuss our possible sailing company charter business.  Luckily we did not have to pay the VIP first day entrance fee of $35 to get in.  Thank you Steve P for getting us in for FREE.

SIDE THOUGHT>  My business is crazy.  We pay a company (usually a industry group we pay money to belong to) a huge fee to bring our unsold boats out of our indoor, on the water showrooms to a parking lot.  Then we charge our potential customers a huge fee (more on VIP) day to come look at our boats to buy them.   We staff, house, feed, etc our entire staff there for 4 + days in the hope we run into someone that wants to buy our boats.  It is crazy to think about this but it happens all over the  country on a weekly basis.

Some shopping, walking, etc in Annapolis (Jens new favorite place) and then 2 hours home to get 15 miles (not Jen's favorite place anymore).  Back to Wegman's (Randy and Maureen) for hamburgers and, etc.

Home to have a great dinner of hamburgers and bacon--

New story-Alex, my  brother in law found a perfect way to cook bacon.  on the grill, no mess, no splash, etc.  I texted him to find out if he uses foil or not and could  not wait for answer so i chose no foil and found out 10 min. later, foil was the answer.    Still great dinner.  Jen, once again fell asleep on the couch with the girls.

Had our first fire outside and S'mores.  Told Jen how the S'mores were for me as a kid.  One chocolate bar lasted 2 weeks with a group of 10.   Always marshmallows left and graham crackers but the all important chocolate was so spared that looked forward to the "perfect" S'more for ever.   Nancy Benchimol was the keeper of the chocolate and you would have to show her a perfectly cooked marshmallow in order to get that square.  My brother, Michael, would find the perfect oven and cook his for the golden brown, picturesque marshmallow. I would burn mine and immediately cook another to get as much chocolate as possible.  That was until my mother figured out what I was doing and would inspect my stick to make sure it was not just cooked on the outside and not easily falling off the stick.  Anyway, Jen got a glimpse at my life as a camper.  The best part is all the other low 6 figure campers watching us cooking s'mores and labeling us as newbies.

Factory fire.  Showed Jen what a factory fire was.  The CEO of "The Truth" Ipa did with his profits.  He built a corner office and put in a large round window and alienated himself from his staff.  when the building caught on fire, all you could see was the smoke billowing out of his "custom" window.  Did the same with her Coke Vanilla Coke and she got the idea.  Nothing better then a factory fire and the story that goes with it.

Also, spoke to Mary Jane and Margie in the office and found out that a ton of campers actually work at campgrounds to get a paycheck and stay for free and move around the country like this.  Never knew about this underground way of life.  Very cool.

Tomorrow.  Tour of Naval Academy, breakfast in Annapolis and drive to JMU!  Btw, spoke to Julian on the phone today!
