It is amazing to me the dedication the camping world makes to accessories. I admit, I went a little crazy with my graphics package but that was a statement that America is great and stand up for the Fing National Anthem. We are seeing RV's that are "decked out." I mean tire covers, full underneath covers, satellite dishes that look like a NASA station, lights, awnings, etc. I wonder what is under those covers? Are they wheels? WTF is the point of covering your wheels. We cannot figure it out. We did see a low or high 6 figure RV with a sign on the back that said RIP to my wife of 59 years with some other really nice and sad comments. Do you think he was alone? it was sad to me.
My nails look better then ever, thanks Emma. Jen had hers done professionally and they are all worn off. Mine look like they were done yesterday. I am still getting funny looks from everyone and I think I will be ok in California with the liberals but I am hoping it will come off by Texas or I might just get my ass kicked. I do not think the Texan's will understand that.
Do you think Planks are harder at higher altitude? I do! or maybe it is doing them after drinking a 6 pack of beer. Not sure, jury is out. Oh, heard from a friend of mine (not going to say who b/c political comment) who said that the Mormons or SLC do not like outsiders and Non-Mormons. Sounds like reverse discrimination but reinforces our findings.
On the diet coke vanilla front, I want to clarify a point. We only bought 3 12 packs the other day because that is all they had. If they had a pallet, we would have bought a pallet. We are still in the drought stage of Diet Vanilla Coke. Today at the grocery, there was none.
Got on Highway with 1/10 gas left but had to find a Fed Ex drop box (yes we are both still working everyday) and there was one at pilot truck stop. Unfortunately, the diesel was so low, our generator would not start. I had to pull the fuel lines, remove the filters, clean and refill and prime before getting started (did not happen, just waited and continued to try and start and it did). I did get diesel and her is what I am up against. The RV has 4 keys-one for ignition, 1 for all the storage compartments and 2 that look the same for fuel doors and front generator locker. I have never gotten the right key for the gas doors yet. I have a 50% chance overtime but still do not get. I am close to ripping the door off and having open all the time.
Lost a fing $6 dollar bet with Jen today. Who knew FDR was Franklin Delano Roosevelt not Franklin Delanor Roosevelt? I was so sure and lost. This was one of the few things we talked about on our hike (One of Jen's toughest ones ever) in Water Canyon in Winnemucca. We drove up a dirt road with the Flag and were afraid we could not turn around so found a picnic area and parked there. Walked 8 miles roundtrip on a really cool trail made for ATV's, Side by Side's or Jeeps (which i happen to have with me) that went up a canyon to the top of a peak. We hiked it and it was up hill the entire way. I stayed 40 feet in front of Jen so I could not hear her complaining and panting but she sucked it up again and we almost made it to the "money shot" (SD) but the trail ended. I said to Jen, wow, this is the best jeep trail i have ever seen, we should take the Jeep we have and drive it. She said, "...maybe you should have taken a guy with you. I hate bouncing around on a jeep trail. You can go and i will "wait" for you. That sounds horrible..." Needless to say, we did not take the jeep up the trail. We were afraid the RV would be gone after the hike as the park was empty and dogs would have been tied to a tree but it was still there.
Got back in and headed to Carson City. I drove for a bit snd then we switched so i could take my afternoon nap. I was sleeping but for some reason, Nevada decided to put the rumble strips in the lines and I was getting woken to the sound of our RV headed off a cliff. I took the RV back and brought us into Carson City to a grocery store where we got steaks and did a little gambling (in the grocery store). On to Tahoe in the AM. Found a cool MT. Rushmore IPA which was great. I think we are going to hike Tahoe and then onto CALIFORNIA (the fun state we never visited as a kid). Last time I was in CA was when I picked up Jen 26 years ago who decided to go west pregnant with my baby Kasey and I had to fly out there, pick her up and start my life. About this time 26 years ago. We were thinking maybe Kasey got here Liberal views in her informative embryo stage in California?
If I lived out here, I would one a Jeep, a side by side, a quad, and a dirt bike. We did not see any rattlesnakes but I carried a stick the entire tine. Oh, I brought a lighter on the hike this time!
